Picture of the week 02.26.07

Cold as Hell Pastel, 12" x 9"

I sketched this week before last, when we had our first real cold snap (as well as our first real snow),
and although it isn't all that timely now -- it's hit sixty two days in a row -- after looking at it again,

I decided to finish it out very quickly. Half abstract, half representational.

Yeah, yeah, I know -- and half-baked. How droll. How very droll.

The title, by the way, comes from a poem my mother would recite on days like this:
Spring has sprung,
Fall has fell.
Winter's come
And it's cold as usual.

When you're ten, that is bust-a-gut material.
