Picture of the week 09.17.07
When I woke up Saturday morning, fall was here.
The house was chilly enough that I had to turn the air conditioning off. I opened all the windows,
something I wouldn't've dreamed of doing two weeks ago for fear of heatstroke. Felt great.
Went for a walk. Stared off into the distance, not really looking at anything so much as enjoying the
fact that for the first time in months it was clear enough that I could actually see off into the distance.
Got back to the house and decided it was time to haul out this painting from last fall and finish it out.
Which I did. Almost. I stopped at this point, because it looked and felt like autumn, and I decided it didn't
need to be developed any further than this:
Der Käfer Oil, 24" x 18"
Or maybe it does, looking at it again. I might oughta pick a few more details out of it, but I haven't
decided yet. What do you think?
While you're stewing that over, this is close enough to what it'll end up looking like,
so we'll call it even for right now, okay?
