...or work it to within an inch of its life.

For the next month, sit quietly and we will control all that you see.
We repeat: There is nothing wrong with your—

And there's that dead end again. But you know, I think I've discovered the main reason
this isn't going to work: Control Voice parodies were done to death years ago. All right,
give me just a moment, and then I'll be back with a more traditional introduction.

Please stand by.

...and we're back with the Third Annual October Game. To those who have
undergone the two previous Games, welcome back, and to the uninitiated,
here's what the thing more or less amounts to:

Starting the first of October, I paint one autumn-themed picture per day,
knowing that I have to post it no matter how it turns out.
It's an often-suspenseful process: Sometimes I have an idea ready
to go; sometimes I'm completely at the mercy of whatever subject matter
turns up. Sometimes it's a breeze, sometimes it's a battle.
Sometimes the picture misses the mark; sometimes it turns out
pretty good. In every case, I cry myself to sleep afterwards, but
fortunately you'll be spared that part.

So meet me back here tomorrow, and we'll get ready to begin. In the
meantime, if you have an idea for a picture, why, just
send it to me. If I use it, I'll tell everybody you thought of it...which might
be a good thing, depending on how it turns out.

By the way, don't worry — I'll refrain from using any more irritating audio on
the rest of the Game. And I apologize for the interminable Outer Limits tangent
I went off on up there. I don't know where that came from. Wait. Yeah, I do.
I'll tell you about that tomorrow.

See? Suspenseful already.
